NB: A skill is a set of instructions you give Claude once. After that it just behaves differently, no need for re-explaining or re-prompting. Mostly free, mostly built by people on GitHub (you can build your own, too).

Three good ones I used this week, sorted by how brave you are feeling 😁

🟢 Easy — /humanizer

Strips the AI traces out of your writing. Em dashes everywhere, ‘delve’, he fake-profound closing paragraphs.

To install: go to Customize → Skills in Claude, search for /humanizer, add it. Then just put /humanizer at the end of any task and it runs.

🟡 Medium — find-skills

The skill that finds and installs other skills for you. You describe what you need, it searches the open directory, checks install counts, hands you the command.

Install via Claude Code: Install the find-skills skill from github.com/vercel-labs/skills

🔴 Advanced — /watch

I'm back from holiday with a backlog of videos I'd been saving all August - interviews, conference talks, things people recommended me to watch.

The problem is that normally, when you paste videos or links into your LLM of choice, the AI only scrapes the title and comments. However, I need the actual content - what was shared, what was on the screen, what the person showed rather than just told.

/watch fixes this. Claude doesn't just tell you what the video said. It packages the method into a skill file. Works on YouTube, Loom, TikTok, and files on your laptop.

Install from the repo: github.com/bradautomates/claude-video

  1. Start a new conversation in Claude Code.

  2. Type /watch and pick the skill from the list.

  3. Paste your YouTube link.

  4. Tell it what you want.

The prompt that makes it worth it: Summarize this video and turn it into a reusable Claude skill.

Then you’ll be able to keep this capability - be it a cooking class that you watched, or a sales technique discussed on a podcast. Enjoy!
